The Arkansas Association of Development Organizations (AADO) was awarded a $600,000 grant for long-term disaster recovery and preparedness after Tornados impacted areas of north-central and north-eastern Arkansas in December of 2021. This resulted in a presidential declared disaster, FEMA 4633-DR-AR. UA Little Rock’s Arkansas Economic Development Institute (AEDI) will be the primary organization working on resiliency planning, developing tools to assist hazard mitigation plan revisions, and providing training in the affected areas and other preparedness initiatives to increase disaster resilience statewide.
